Alentejo Repair Community

Since 2023, during the European Week for Waste Reduction, Buinho and Resialentejo have organised a Repair Café marathon across the network's eight municipalities: Almodôvar, Barrancos, Beja, Castro Verde, Mértola, Moura, Ourique and Serpa. Volunteers, many of them seniors, diagnose and repair small appliances, furniture and bicycles together with participants, with related educational activities for schools and senior universities.

In December 2024 the project won the Best Volunteering Project award in the Environmental Protection, Sustainable Development and Climate Action category, given by the Portuguese National Agency Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps.
