Hiten Utami

Hiten has a MFA in the School of Kyushu Industrial University of Art, and currently resides and works in Tokushima, Japan. Her practice mostly involves graphics, but also organizes art workshops and experimental projects aimed to present art in a noninstitutional context. The major themes of her work are mass media, social issues, and personal stories, which often incorporate sarcasm and parody. In Buinho Hiten developed two large-scale murals in fabric from the serie “We are in the same boat”.
