Future food labs for young people in Germany, Portugal and Spain: cooking, growing and making to rethink the relationship between food, territory and climate. The project is aimed mainly at young people with fewer opportunities in rural areas and seeks to reduce food waste through alternative food sources and green production.
Buinho ran the Future Food Lab in Portugal, with workshops for youth workers in Messejana, and was responsible for the quality control of the whole project. The method is recorded in the «Future Food Lab — Buinho Handbook», published on the SALTO-YOUTH Toolbox: 14 tested stations, from a spirulina tasting to an Arduino bioreactor, low-cost and openly licensed, with learning outcomes mapped to Youthpass and a record of what failed in testing.
